Yesterday (Friday) was a travel day for us. When we arrived in Philly we had to report to the field at 5 p.m. for a light batting practice and workout. Today, we have a 4 p.m. bus taking us to the field with a police escort due to the hostile Phillies fans and for security reasons.
Looking out the window right now I see a light rain and wind. It's going to be a cold, wet night.
Tonight's game will make history due to the largest age difference between starting pitchers in World Series history. We are starting a young power arm, Matt Garza, who is 24. The Phillies are starting a well-traveled veteran, Jamie Moyer, who is 45 years old.
Hopefully my next blog will be about our Game 3 win!

Comment: Hmmmm.... Santa Rosa's Eric Bruntlett (defensive sub for LF Burrell) scores the winning run in Game 3 after a plunking in B9. I'd say he's sorta obligated to coach at Camp For A Cure now. Wouldn't you? Eric... I hope you're having fun, but 2008 is The Year Of The Rays.

Comment: The radar map in Philly looks wicked 90 minutes before scheduled start, but the weather wizards say the front should pass through about game time with only scattered showers after that. Hope the weather doesn't burn the starting pitchers. The Phillies don't lose much in Moyer, but we need all the Garza we can get. Let's go Rays!
